There are two major ways to use the "Link" feature: Linking pages within the wiki, and creating links to other sites on the Internet.
1. Linking pages within your wiki:
It's important to link pages back to the home page, or to an organizing page because it helps the users navigate their way through your site. For example, I have put a link to our HOME page on at the top of every new page I've created. It's easy to do as well: 1.Highlight a word - or image - on the page you are on.
2. Click on the INSERT LINK icon on the toolbar
This box will pop up. When you want to link pages WITHIN your wiki, make sure the "Page or file" is highlighted blue like this ->
Then click in PAGE NAME and choose the name of the page - or file - within your wiki that you want this text to link to. Then click on ADD LINK
2. Linking your wiki to some other place on the Internet: There are all sorts of reasons to link to someplace else on the Internet. And it's as easy as linking within your wiki. 1. Open another tab on the Internet and find the page you want to link to.
2. Copy the URL of that page.
3. Click on the INSERT LINK icon at the toolbar.
The box will pop up again:
This time make sure "Web address" is highlighted-> Copy the URL from the site you want into the ADDRESS box. Click NEW WINDOW if you don't want this link to be opened in a new window on the computer. I recommend this, especially if working with younger students. Then click on ADD LINK.
